MILAN — 22 January 2026 — The Scientology Volunteer Ministers have brought their well-known yellow tent in Milan, creating a visible meeting point for practical help and one-to-one guidance, alongside everyday “Tools for Life” that can be applied to real-life difficulties. Previously deployed in cities including New York, London, Paris, Berlin, Madrid, Rome and Naples, the Yellow Tent is designed to let residents speak with trained volunteers and learn simple steps for communication breakdowns, workplace stress and conflict resolution, as well as practical help during difficult moments.
Volunteer Ministers are community volunteers trained through 19 introductory courses covering communication, relationships, study skills, workplace challenges and conflict resolution. The approach is focused on the individual: understand what the person faces and provide an actionable technique.
In Italy, Volunteer Ministers have supported communities during the 2009 L’Aquila earthquake and the 2012 Emilia-Romagna earthquakes, and have also assisted during recent floods in Marche (2022) and Romagna (2023), working alongside local institutions and civil protection actors to help clear homes and public spaces.
In Milan, activity expanded during the COVID-19 period with sanitisation efforts and support for families in need. Organisers say volunteers then continued with neighbourhood support, including over 160 consecutive Saturdays of community clean-up and support, extending across all nine municipal areas of the city, while also contributing to solidarity efforts such as sending essential goods to Ukraine.
Ivan Arjona, Scientology’s representative to the European Union, OSCE, Council of Europe and UN, said: “Across Europe, we see that communities become stronger when citizens feel equipped to help news eu one another in practical ways—calmly, respectfully and without prejudice. Their work reflects a civic principle: support starts with listening and providing tools that help people regain the ability to act and contribute.”
